keep the natural ripping process going and create volume just when is needed
this project explored how to maintain the properties of the fresh fruit through understanding its lifecycle. so instead of stopping the process of maturation through cold, we try to control the ripping process itself by creating an encapsulated environment on which the components of the air inside the capsule activate or delay the ripping of the fruit.
also, this project reflects on the availability of storage space proposing a system on which storage volume is created only when is needed. this is achieved by an expandable structure that, with the reorganization of its parts, grows to create volume. two devices were created in this logic. a capsule on which the fruit is kept in atmospheric control and a shelf that nest the capsule and feed the components for the atmospheric control.
